OMBS7/ How much could a decision impact you?

PRAYER - "Speaking In Tongues Shows That He Is In Us"

Jesus commanded His disciples to receive the Holy Ghost (John 20:22). He said, "Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you," (Acts 1:8). In Acts 2:4, "they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." "On the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues," Acts 10:45-46. The Holy Ghost baptism is Christ in you.

1 John 4:13 - "Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit."

PRINCIPAL - "A Righteous Man Among The Ungodly"

Unless you live in a cave, you are probably surrounded by ungodly people a large part of your time. You must do the will of God even in the midst of the ungodly. It is the rule, not the exception. Eventually, God will deliver you. Remember Noah. Remember Lot.

2 Peter 2:8-9 - "(For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;) The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished."

PRINCIPLE - "The Unjust Are Like Brute Beasts And Will Be Punished"

God will "reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished." If you are full of unclean lusts, despise authorities and speak evil of dignities, you are presumptuous and self-willed. Even holy angels do not speak evil of dignities. God Himself will punish you.

2 Peter 2:12-13 - "But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption; And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, ...Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you."

PROPHECY - "The Way Of Truth Shall Be Evil Spoken Of"

Time and space scarcely allow for discussion of the countless false doctrines, false ministers, false movements, false denominations, cults, charlatans and scandals that mar the face of modern Christianity. Vast multitudes despise and even hate Christianity because it too often has an evil, distasteful reputation. This tragic state of affairs is the fulfillment of one of Peter's most significant prophecies. They cause TRUTH to be evil spoken of. Demand the truth, and nothing but the truth.

2 Peter 2:2 - "Many shall follow their pernicious [ruinous, destructive, damnable] ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of."

How much could a decision impact you?
Hi there,
Venturing on the path of wisdom calls for thoughtful decision-making fueled by guidance from the Word of God. So, let’s explore three insightful reminders King Solomon provided to steer us away from darkness and destruction.

Beware of small compromises. While they might appear as shortcuts to success, compromises are a step toward disaster. For example, cheating on an expense report might offer quick gains, but it tarnishes your reputation and leads to job loss.

Acknowledge the sickness of our hearts.Jeremiah writes that our hearts are deceitful and sick in Jeremiah 17:9. Although we receive new hearts in Christ, old sinful tendencies linger. Engage with God’s Word daily to cleanse and renew your mind.

Consider the paths your decisions pave.Even minor missteps can be costly. Take Lot, who moved towards the wicked city of Sodom due to greed. Such a seemingly insignificant choice led to his ruin. Listen to God’s voice, prioritize reading the Bible, and pray in order to obey.

When you make choices rooted in God’s Word and anticipate where decisions will lead, you will be spared from unnecessary heartache.
Let’s pray...
Heavenly Father, help us be mindful of our little decisions. We thank You that Your Spirit guides us to the truth and righteous decision-making. As we meditate on Proverbs 24, help us to trust Your guidance and seek Your Word for discernment. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
