OMBS7/ He Will Lead You

PRAYER - "Blessed Are They That Mourn"

The first four beatitudes are quite paradoxical, inasmuch as Jesus pronounced happiness on those who endure godly deprivations: the poor in spirit, the mourners, the meek, and the hungry and thirsty. Jesus appreciated those who found no satisfaction in temporal things, but who wept, agonized, and yearned for better, eternal things. Many people never mourn because they are satisfied with this world. Paul said, "We ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body." Sow in tears. Reap in joy.

Matthew 5:4 - "Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted."

PRINCIPAL - "The Salt Of The Earth"

Salt is a natural preservative. Salt purifies and inhibits corruption, even disease. The world must have salt. Men and women who believe and obey the word of God are the salt of the earth. Elisha the prophet cured undrinkable waters at Jericho by casting salt into the waters. Jesus admonishes us not to lose our savour - our distinctive properties.

Matthew 5:13 - "Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men."

PRINCIPLE - "Blessed Are The Meek"

One of the best synonyms for "meek" is "tame." When a horseman meeks a horse, he breaks its wild nature and makes it manageable. When you and I become meek, we submit our will to the will of God. Meekness is total discipline. Meekness is not weakness. It is strength of the highest order. If you can be meek to God's will and purpose, He will invest everything He has in you. Our carnal self-will has to be subdued. Surrender now to God's control.

Matthew 5:5 - "Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth."

PROPHECIES - "Jesus Came To Fulfill The Law"

Jesus did not abolish the law. He verbally reconfirmed all Ten Commandments within a new covenant of grace. Murder, idolatry, adultery, etc. are still sins, but atonement is different through the blood of Jesus. Even Sabbath is still kept, but on different terms, established at Pentecost.

Matthew 5:17-18 - "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."

He Will Lead You

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

- Galatians 5:16

Walking in the spirit. That's the key to overcoming the flesh. If you follow the prompting of the Spirit of God within you, you won't be dominated by the pressure your flesh tries to put on you.

As you listen to the written Word and the Holy Spirit telling you what to do, you'll constantly be making little adjustments in your life according to what He says. And those little adjustments will keep darkness from overtaking you.

You see, God knows just what you need. He can look ahead in your life and see the traps and pressures the devil is laying for you. So follow the Holy Spirit's leading and He will maneuver you safely around them to victory.
