Here is the God of Heaven, standing on earth in the fleshly body of a man, and THIS is what the people want to know: "Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar?" "If a woman dies, having had seven husbands, whose wife will she be in the resurrection?" They could have asked ANYTHING of Him. In Him was all the wisdom of the eternal ages. Jesus then asked them, "Whose son is Christ?"
Matthew 22:46 - "And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions."
PRINCIPAL - "False Prophets Will Not Be Tolerated In The Millennium"
In the millennium, Christ will rid His holy land of all idols and false prophets. False prophets will not be tolerated, but will be put to death in accordance with the ancient laws of God. No man will want to admit that he has been prophesying, knowing that he faces the death penalty.
Zechariah 13:4-5 - "The prophets shall be ashamed every one of his vision, when he hath prophesied; neither shall they wear a rough garment to deceive: But he shall say, I am no prophet, I am an husbandman; for man taught me to keep cattle from my youth."
PRINCIPLE - "Wounded By A Friend"
Betrayal is a hallmark of the godly life. "Mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me," Psalms 41:9. Judas came to Jesus, and kissed Him. Jesus said to him, "Friend..." "Betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?" (Matthew 26:49-50 and Luke 22:48). No enemy can hurt you as much as a dear friend who betrays you. If you have never been betrayed, brace yourself. It is coming.
Zechariah 13:6 - "I was wounded in the house of my friends."
PROPHECIES - "Smite The Shepherd, The Sheep Shall Be Scattered"
This prophecy said that the Shepherd would be smitten, and the sheep would be scattered. Both were fulfilled. Jesus, the Chief Shepherd of Israel (1 Peter 5:4) was scourged, smitten, and crucified at Calvary. The sheep were scattered shortly after Calvary, when Romans destroyed Jerusalem in 70 AD, and the Jews were dispersed to the four winds. Jesus pointed out this prophecy to His disciples shortly before He was taken and crucified (Matthew 26:31; Mark 14:27).
Zechariah 13:7 - "Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, ...smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered."
And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from the Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds.... And be thankful (appreciative), [giving praise to God always.] - Colossians 3:15, The Amplified Bible |
Have you been praying that God will let you know whether a certain action you want to take is agreeable to His will or not? Let this peace of Christ be your guide. Let it help you settle the issue. If you start to take that action and you realize you don't have peace about it, don't do it. Remember, though, that this inner leading of the Holy Spirit, this subtle sense of uneasiness or peace He gives you, is something you have to watch and listen for carefully. He generally won't just come up and knock you out of bed one morning and tell you what you need to do. The primary way He speaks to you is by what the Bible calls an inward witness. So, you have to listen. You can't just stay busy about the things of the world all the time. You have to give Him time and attention. Also, watch out for strife. If you're irritated and upset about things in your life, it will be very hard to receive that quiet guidance from the Holy Spirit. So take heed to the instructions at the end of this scripture and "be thankful... appreciative, giving praise to God always." Maintain a thankful, grateful heart. You'll find it much easier to hear the "umpire of peace" when He makes a call. |
God has been working with me on trust and then i found that peace follows. He has/is breaking me down piece by piece only to build something back stronger and better than ever.
