• God gives some gifts, remember, not Boy Scout merit badges. We didn’t earn them. We didn’t pay for them. We simply receive them by faith with gratitude.
MessageBible: "Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith life is forced into the open and shows its true colours" (James 1:2-3). Tests give our faith the opportunity to shine. How’s your glow?
PRAYER - "Come Now, And Let Us Reason Together"
God invites His backsliders to a hearing. "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land." God is not willing for you to perish, if you will but open up and talk to Him on His terms.
Isaiah 1:20 - "But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it."
PRINCIPALS - "Isaiah The Prophet"
Isaiah, son of Amoz, prophesied forty-four years under Judean kings Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah. Ancient written traditions say that Isaiah died as a martyr under the evil king Manasseh by being sawn in two, and is probably who Paul had in mind when listing heroes of faith in Hebrews 11:37, "...they were sawn asunder." And no wonder. Isaiah was fearless to preach before kings and princes, including stinging rebukes to kings of Judah.
Isaiah 1:10 - "Hear the word of the LORD, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah."
PRINCIPLES - "God Will Have His Day"
For ages, men have exalted themselves and ignored God. But God will have His day. "The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty."
Isaiah 2:19 - "They shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth."
PROPHECIES - "Jerusalem - Capital Of The World"
Messiah, Jesus Christ, will rule the world from Jerusalem. "The mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it."
Isaiah 2:3 - "And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem."
Don’t cause the Lord to give your assignment to another because of your failure to do what He calls you to do.
Cattle follow along in single file, often walking along the same path, forming well worn tracks or ruts. ‘Tracks’ form through our minds in a similar way. If we go down the same line of thinking often enough, a pathway forms and becomes a rut that gets deeper each time we use it.
If we do not have eternal judgments firmly established in our understanding, then we will not be capable of building a proper life in Jesus Christ . Compare this to trying to advance your high school or university education without being able to read, write, add, or subtract.
