OMBS7/ Don’t Waste Time Wondering

PRAYER - "Saying "Lord, Lord!" Does Not Make Him Your Lord"

Just saying, "Lord, Lord!" does not establish a relationship with Jesus Christ. "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, ...Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name?" Matthew 7:21-22. "Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us," Matthew 25:11. "[Ye say] Lord, Lord, open unto us; ...[and He shall say] I know you not whence ye are," Luke 13:25.

Luke 6:46 - "Why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?"

PRINCIPAL - "The Minister Is Everyone's Servant"

The other ten were displeased with James' and John's request for promotion. Jesus explained how the rulers of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, but "so shall it not be among you." Stop promoting yourself. Empty yourself. Give yourself away. The greatest work is at the bottom.

Mark 10:43-45 - "Whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many."

PRINCIPLE - "True Disciples Must Drink The Cup Of Suffering"

James and John naively (and brazenly) asked Jesus, "Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory." Jesus answered, "Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?" They thought they could, yet really did not comprehend the true cost of discipleship.

Mark 10:39 - "Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized."

PROPHECIES - "If You're Ashamed Of Him, He Will Be Ashamed Of You"

You can do anything you want to do with Jesus - love Him or leave Him. But if you are hung up on political correctness or being socially acceptable, and cannot take a stand for Jesus and His teachings, it will all be remembered on judgment day. Wisdom says that we should esteem our Creator above His creatures.

Mark 8:38 - "Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels."

Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

So many believers wring their hands and worry about whether or not they’re praying according to God’s will. “Oh, dear me,” they say, “I certainly can’t expect God to do something for me that’s outside His will.” And they’re absolutely right.

But they don’t need to waste time standing around looking puzzled. They need to grab their Bibles and find out what the will of God is.

God has made some very specific promises in His Word and it’s His will to fulfill every one of them in your life. In fact, those promises are divinely guaranteed by a contract that’s been signed in the blood of Jesus.

Think of it this way. Your Bible is the last will and testament of Jesus Christ. It is a record of your inheritance. Everything that belongs to you has been written down in that Book and the smartest thing you can do is to find out what is in it. Don’t leave it lying on the coffee table and hit the floor crying, “Oh, God! Oh, God! I’m searching for the truth.”

Pick up your Bible from the coffee table and find out what belongs to you! Find out how you need to change to get in line with God’s will.

Most people don’t do that. They try to change God instead. They’ll go on and on trying to convince God just how badly they hurt or how poor they are. They’ll beg and plead and wheedle, all the while acting as though they had to somehow change God’s mind about the situation. Those folks are in for a long wait.

God is never going to change. The Bible says He’s the same yesterday, today, and forever. His will is too. So don’t waste your time wondering if your prayers are in line with it. Get the Book and base your prayers on it. Then you can rest assured the answer is on the way!

  1. "Amen, Amen" It’s true, all the ANSWERS are in the Bible. ONLY if we could understand, that HIS word is ALIVE! Waiting on US, 2 search them 4 the answer 2 our needs. Our GOD is ALIVE, so WHY can't we ALL seek HIM, thru HIS word ALSO 4 the ANSWER 2 our NEEDS? Have WE become 2 comfortable and lazy, 2 pick up our own Bible, 2 get the ANSWER ourselves, thru HIS word? LORD help our people, help them understand, WE are living CLOSE 2 the END of TIME and there is NO time, 2 take things so LIGHTLY, in JESUS name, I pray AMEN! πŸ™πŸŒΉπŸ•Š
