OMBS7/ God’s will is Liberty

Many agree brother Lacy Strong brought the message of God in the year of of our Lord 1944. (ACTS 2:38) to Tippah County, MS.! Our wonderful sister Polly Wilbanks was 3 years old and he was her pastor. Much has been done since then. 1000’s of ministers have come out of the message from here! In his later years he came by the county jail in Booneville, MS. That’s where I first met him and first heard  this wonderful Apostolic message. The Lord has brought us a mighty long way and wrought miracles we could never have asked or thought of. Glory to His name, JESUS CHRIST BE PRAISED FOREVER!

PRAYER - "Crying For A Deliverer"

After Joshua died, the children of Israel began to forsake the Lord and turn to the gods of the heathen. God allowed their enemies to overcome them. From time to time, Israel came to their senses and began to repent and cry out to God for deliverance. The book of Judges recounts how God raised up several anointed judges who brought miraculous deliverance. Surely God yearns to hear our cry when we have sinned.

Judges 3:9 - "And when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them..."

PRINCIPALS - "Inaugurating the Promised Land"

Moses instructed Israel to do several things upon entering the Promised Land. 1.) Keep all the Commandments I taught you. 2.) When you cross over Jordan, build a stone memorial, and write the Commandments on it. 3.) Build an altar, offer sacrifices and rejoice. 4.) Stand half the tribes on Mount Gerizim and recite the blessings I promised. 5.) Stand the other tribes on Mount Ebal and recite the curses I promised if you forsake. 6.) Have the Levites curse everyone who breaks the laws of God.

Deuteronomy 27:11 - "And Moses charged the people the same day..."

PROPHECIES - "Moses Blesses The Tribes"

Each of the twelve tribes of Israel had a divine posterity. Moses took time to speak to them again before he died. Each tribe received a blessing, except for Simeon. Jacob, their father, had prophesied that Levi and Simeon would be scattered because of the war over Dinah at Shechem. Moses affirmed that Levi would be scattered among all the tribes, but completely ignored Simeon. Over time, Simeon left with a little land in the center of Judah (means praise) an finally erratic history.  Blessings and curses are very real.

Deuteronomy 33:1 - "And this is the blessing, wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death."

PRAYER - "The Day the Sun Stood Still"

Five hostile kings went to war against Gibeon, who called for Joshua to bring Israel to their defense. Joshua assembled his army, and they travelled all night to the battleground. The day wore on, and Joshua asked God for more time. "Stop the SUN!" God did! God can answer bold prayers.

Joshua 10:12 - "Then spake Joshua to the LORD... and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies."

PRINCIPALS - "False Gods and Deceivers"

CAUTION! God allows deceivers to test our love for Him, even showing deceptive signs, wonders and miracles. God demanded that anyone who enticed an Israelite to follow another god was to be put to death. False prophets, dreamers, close friends, or even family members had to die. God despises our associating with false religions and perverse doctrines. Stay away from them.

Deuteronomy 13:5 - "...that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt."

PRINCIPLES - "Saved By Entering Into Covenant"

God completely destroyed Noah's hopelessly sinful generation. But He offered a holy covenant to Abraham, promising to show favor and make a great nation of his descendants, Israel, if they would enter into a covenant to keep His commandments. God jealously rules the earth and all mankind, and vows to destroy all nations who hate Him. He will give everything to those who love Him and keep His commandments.

Deuteronomy 7:9 - "Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments."

PROPHECIES - "When Thou Art In Tribulation"

Just before the second coming of Jesus Christ, will come a time called "Jacob's Trouble," (Daniel 12:1), better known as the Great Tribulation. This will precipitate a national spiritual revival for Israel.

Deuteronomy 4:30,31 - "When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice; (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them."

God's Will Is Liberty

Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

– 2 Corinthians 3:17

Liberty. If you could put the will of God into one word, that would be the word. God wants people to be free. Free from sin and sickness, poverty, oppression and every other curse.

That freedom is what Jesus came to provide. He said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor...to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised…” (Luke 4:18). That’s what He trained His disciples to do. And if you’re a born-again believer, that’s what He wants you to do too!

Some people say, “Well, I don’t know about that. That may not be God’s will for today.”

But listen, the Bible says God never changes. He hasn’t changed His will for the earth. He doesn’t do one thing awhile and then go do another thing for a while. Jesus’ life was a perfect picture of God’s will 2,000 years ago—and it still is! That’s why He left instructions for us to go and do the works that He did. That’s why He sent the Holy Spirit to empower us to do them.

Jesus still wants to do the will of the Father here on earth—but He does it through us. He has to work with us until we’re willing to lay down our traditions and let Him do His thing. That’s what the early Church did. They started out with a bang because they did as Jesus taught them. Everywhere they went people became free.

Let’s pray for the Church of today to begin to deliver the liberty of God to the world. It’s time to quit questioning the will of God and start carrying it out instead. He said the works that He did we would do also and even greater works (John 14:12). It’s time for us to take up where Jesus left off and set the captives free!

Plan of Salvation read acts 2:38

According to Romans, hope is actually looking at something you can’t see. How do you do that? You do it by looking at the promises of God in the Word until with your inner eyes—the eyes of your spirit—a picture is formed.
