Be Transformed

PRAYER - "Doubtful Prayers

Every request we make of God has to be made with genuine expectation that He will grant it. Prayer without faith is little more than a pointless monologue. If you want something from God, believe He will give it, or don't bother asking. God is infinitely capable and abundantly willing to grant our petitions.

James 1:6-7 - "...ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord."

PRINCIPALS - "Cain and Abel"

Firstborn human on earth was a murderer. How could it be? Cain gave a freewill offering to God; select produce from his crops. His brother, Abel, followed suit, sacrificing an animal from his flock. God loved Abel's blood sacrifice, but not Cain's produce. Cain was furious. God said, "if you do well, you will be accepted." If not, sin lies at the door. Cain paid no attention to God's warning admonition. People get crazy when they ignore God.

Genesis 4:8 - "...Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him."

PRINCIPLES - "Afflictions"

Job is famous for having endured his affliction. In the end he prospered above and beyond everything he lost. But those were only the temporal rewards. In eternity, the saints of God will be rewarded infinitely. Just one hour in God's heaven will instantly convince us that every single difficulty we ever faced was more than worth the cost. But we will have far more than one hour -- all eternity!

2 Corinthians 4:17 - "For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more

exceeding and eternal weight of glory."

PROPHECIES - "Abraham's Posterity"

God told Abraham that his seed would be as countless as the stars. Without doubt, there have been millions of Jews born throughout the centuries since that prophecy. But wait! All born-again believers in Jesus Christ; "...they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham," Galatians 3:7. That adds many millions more! God keeps His promises.

Genesis 15:5 - "And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be."

Behold the Lord

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.

– Romans 12:2

Inside, you're perfect—born again in the image of Jesus Himself. But outwardly do you find yourself falling frustratingly short of that perfection? Is there a solution? Yes! The secret lies in "the renewing of your mind."

Romans 12:2 tells us that, if you'll renew your mind, you can actually be "transformed." That word transformed is translated from the Greek word from which we get the term metamorphosis. It's used in Scripture in two other places. Into His Marvelous Light

One of those places is when Jesus was transfigured on the Mount as He spoke with Moses and Elijah. The other is found in 2 Corinthians 3:18. It says, "But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord."

Changed, transformed, transfigured! Those are powerful, exciting words, and they describe what will happen to you as you spend time beholding the Lord in the Word and in prayer. As you spend time renewing your mind, your outer being will be transformed in much the same way as a caterpillar is changed into a butterfly. Instead of conforming to the image of the world, you'll begin to conform to the image of the reborn spirit within you which is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Take time to get away from the world and study God's Word. Meditate on it and let it change you from the inside out. Be transformed by the renewing of your mind and release the beautiful spiritual butterfly that's living in you!
