OMBS7/ God Has Greater

PRAYER - "Seek Him, That You May Have Everlasting Life"

After seeing His miracles, the crowds followed Jesus all around Galilee, intending to forcibly make Him their king. When He sent the disciples away by ship without Him, the crowds searched frantically for Him. But He rebuked them, and commanded them to seek eternal life instead of earthly blessings. Crucial advice, even today!

John 6:26 - "Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you."

PRINCIPAL - "The Son - Judge Of All"

Throughout the Old Testament, God worked sovereignly among men. But when Jesus was born, God channeled Himself through Him, making Jesus the only door to God. Anyone refusing to acknowledge that God is incarnate in Christ cannot know God.

John 5:21-22 - "As the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him."

PRINCIPLE - "If You Do Not Honor Jesus, You Do Not Honor God"

The Jews wanted to kill Jesus, thinking that He claimed to be equal with God. Jesus explained that God loved Him (the Son) and "sheweth Him all things that Himself doeth, that ye may marvel." The Father handed all judgment to the Son.

John 5:23-24 - "That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. ...He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life."

PROPHECY - "The Voice Of Jesus Christ Will Resurrect The Dead"

No one else but Jesus can give you everlasting life. As God raised the dead, "the Son quickeneth whom He will." "The hour is coming, ...when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live." No other voice can resurrect you.

John 5:28-29 - "Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation."

God Has Greater

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

- 1 John 4:4

Under the circumstances….  Have you ever caught yourself using that phrase?

“I suppose I’m doing pretty well under the circumstances.”

If you’ve ever said something like that, I want you to kick those words out of your vocabulary right now. Because you, as a victorious child of God, don’t have any business living your life “under” your circumstances. You don’t have any business letting problems and situations rule over you.

Two thousand years ago, Jesus—the One who is in you—ransacked Satan’s kingdom. Through His death at Calvary, He legally entered the regions of the damned and stripped Satan of everything. He took away all his armor. He took the keys to death and hell. He bound that strong man, looted his kingdom, and Colossians says He spoiled principalities and powers and made a show of them openly, triumphing over them.

Then Jesus turned around and gave that victory to you. You are of God. Remember that! You have overcome through Jesus because He lives in you. You never have to live “under” the circumstances again!
