At a wedding, Jesus' mother told Him, "They have no wine." He resisted her, saying, "Mine hour is not yet come." But she told the servants, "Whatever He saith unto you, do it." Jesus instructed them to fill six huge waterpots with water, then serve the people. That was His first recorded miracle. No matter how unusual your problem, tell Jesus about it. The host was delighted.
John 2:10 - "Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now."
PRINCIPAL - "Jesus - The Light Of The World"
The life of Jesus Christ is light shining in darkness for all men. John bore witness of Him so all the world could believe. Jesus is the true Light. No other man has ever shined so brightly, nor given more life to more men. "I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness," John 12:46. NOBODY is truly enlightened without Jesus.
John 1:4-5 - "In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not."
PRINCIPLE - "Believers Given Power To Become Sons Of God"
The invisible God embodied Himself and came to reveal Himself to His people, Israel. "He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not." Therefore, God birthed a new nation - His Church.
John 1:12 - "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."
PROPHECY - "Jesus Turned, And Looked Upon Peter"
Jesus prophesied that Peter would deny Him three times before morning. God knows our mettle better than we do. Peter was in the high priest's house while Jesus was being tried. The third time he denied, "the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter." That eye contact must have been painful.
Luke 22:60-62 - "While he yet spake, the cock crew. And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And Peter went out, and wept bitterly."
Courage Comes From Faith |
Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. - Joshua 1:9 |
Courage comes from trusting God. It can’t be mentally drummed up. It comes from believing what God says regardless of what the circumstances look like. Courage comes from faith! Where does discouragement come from? From fear and unbelief. It comes when you listen to the devil’s lies about what God is not going to do for you. As the people of God, you and I must shake off discouragement and rise up with courage! We must quit looking at our own abilities and failures and limitations and start looking to God. We must rise up in the Name of Jesus and the power of His Spirit and establish the kingdom of heaven upon earth. If you’ve been discouraged lately, stop listening to Satan’s lies. Stop receiving evil reports. Whenever someone tells you God is not going to deliver you, you just tell them, “He’s already delivered me in the Name of Jesus.” Once you begin to realize who you are and what you’ve been given by the power of God, you’ll quit letting the devil run all over you. God didn’t suggest that you be strong and courageous. That is His command! |
