Lord, I pray Your emotional, physical, and spiritual protection over my kids (grandkids). Keep evil far from them, and help them to trust You as their refuge and strength. I pray You will guard their minds from harmful instruction, and grant them discernment to recognize truth. I pray You will make them strong and courageous in the presence of danger, recognizing that You have overcome and will set right all injustice and wrong one day. Help them to find rest in Your shadow, as they live in the spiritual shelter You provide for thejm. Let them know that the only safe place is in Jesus, and that their home on earth is only temporary.

PRAYER - "Never Stop Asking, 'Where Is The LORD?'"

Jeremiah did not want to pronounce judgments on his countrymen, but God required him to. After all God's kindnesses - deliverance from Egypt, and countless miracles in the wilderness and in the Promised Land - the people stopped inquiring of the LORD and turned to idols. It is a frightening, foolish mistake to forget God. Seek Him always!


Jeremiah 2:5 - "What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, ...Neither said they, Where is the LORD that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, ...The priests said not, Where is the LORD?"

PRINCIPALS - "The Rod Of An Almond Tree"

The word of the LORD assured Jeremiah that God was with him. A vision appeared. "Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree." In Moses' day, a company of rebels tried to overthrow Aaron the High Priest. God made every tribe lay a wooden rod on the ground. Overnight, "the rod of Aaron ...brought forth buds, and bloomed 
blossoms, and yielded almonds." As God quickly vindicated Aaron, He promised to vindicate Jeremiah.

Jeremiah 1:12 - "Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it."

PRINCIPLES - "God Makes His Prophet Invincible"

God told Jeremiah, "I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant." "...speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at their faces..."

Jeremiah 1:19 - "I have made thee ...a defenced city, ...an iron pillar, ...brasen walls against the whole land, against the kings, ...the princes..., the priests..., ...the people. ....they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee."

PROPHECIES - "The Seething Pot"

Jeremiah's second vision was of a seething (boiling) pot facing northward, from which direction an evil calamity would come. It was a prophecy foretelling the invasion of the Babylonians, who eventually attacked from the north. Israel was going to "boil" in Nebuchadnezzar's "pot." It happened just a few years later, in Jeremiah's lifetime. If you persist in your sins, God is going to judge you. 


Jeremiah 1:16 - "I will utter my judgments against them touching all their wickedness, who have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands."

Be Not Afraid


Fear is a subject mentioned in almost every book of the Bible, because fear is deeply ingrained in the fiber of all people. It can become a fatal disease in the absence of faith in God. Trusting God is the antidote to fear. He is the best guardian you can possibly have. Be not afraid.

Deuteronomy 20:1 - "When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the LORD thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt."

Stubborn And Rebellious Sons

God called Israel to be holy, unlike heathen nations. When sons became stubborn and rebellious, they provoked God's wrath and judgment.

Deuteronomy 21:18 - "If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them: Then shall his father and his mother ...say, ...our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard. And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die."

Dress Code

The twentieth century was a revolutionary period for gender identity. Never in history was there such a massive, radical shift in dress codes. Women in war defense jobs began wearing masculine garments. Hollywood starlets promoted the trend. Since that time, sexual identities have become muddled and homosexuality is epidemic. God says men should be men, and women should be women.

Deuteronomy 22:5 - "The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God."
