Jesus Christ does a plethora of things that never make headlines or invite peals of applause. Some of His work--dare I say, some of His best work--is performed on the most ordinary days, in the most ordinary places and ways, with ordinary people. Like us.
* If the Bible repeats any message, it’s that people WILL FAIL. You will at some point do something stupid or act out of fear, and the beautiful thing is – it’s okay. It can be okay because of the second truth God communicates through this tale:HIS PROMISES WILL NOT FAIL
* The best is truly yet to come if you swap out your own agenda for God’s. All of our lives are intertwined in his amazing plan. It’s time to wrap your head around the fact that God is going to stay committed to the tomorrow he has in store for you.

PRAYER - "The Voice Said, ‘Cry.’"
God often speaks to us, but we rarely hear. Next time you are at a loss for words to pray, make this declaration. It is a divine reminder of our frailty and His strength.
Isaiah 40:6-8 - "The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever."
PRINCIPALS - "The Arm Of The LORD"
Moses often referred to the outstretched arm of the LORD which helped Israel. Isaiah cried out to Zion, to Jerusalem, to Judah; "Behold, your God!" He declared, prophetically, the coming of Christ - the arm of the LORD revealed.
Isaiah 40:10-11 - "The Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him. He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young."
PRINCIPLES - "Make His Path Straight"
All four gospels record John the Baptist’s quote from Isaiah 40. Every believer must make a straight path for the Savior. Come out of depression (your valleys). Tear down your pride (your hills). Put away your crookedness give Jesus a clear path.
PROPHECIES - "The Highway Of Holiness"
At least six times, Isaiah prophesied about a highway in Israel, from Egypt to Assyria through Jerusalem, when Jesus reigns. "A highway for our God," (40:3). "...prepare ye the way of the people; ...gather out the stones," (62:10). No more checkpoints, barrier walls or roadside bombs. Only the righteous will travel on it.
Isaiah 35:8-10 - "An highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; ...No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, ...but the redeemed shall walk there."
* By prioritizing rest for ourselves and those we love, we may just rediscover the joy we thought had been lost forever.
