The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. - John 10:10 |

Considering how much the devil hates people and how dead set he is on destroying them, it's no wonder we see so much tragedy and disaster in the world. In fact, it's amazing that we don't see more! I asked the Lord about that one time and He told me it takes the realm of darkness a long time to set up major disasters. Take the aviation industry, for example. It's highly regulated and works hard at policing itself because safety is its product. You take a highly regulated system like that and the devil has to work terribly hard to cause disasters. He can't just come roaring in and rip things up any time he wants to. If he could, he'd knock every plane out of the sky tonight. But he can't do it. Why? Because he's bound. The Bible says he's bound to things that are common to man. He has to line up certain things in this natural, human realm before he can lay a finger on you. He has to use people to get his work done. But, bless God, we're not bound to what's common to man. We're free to use what's common to God! We fight our warfare with uncommon weapons. What does that mean? It means you ought to have the devil wrapped up and sewed up. You ought to put him in a sack with a ribbon on top. The devil can't cause disaster in your life unless he has been given place. He can't come in and start destroying and stealing from you unless he can get you into a place of sin, doubt, ignorance or disobedience. So if he's been giving you trouble, ask the Holy Spirit to show you where you've let those things in. Then repent and get rid of them. Once you've done that, pull out the weapons God has given you and fire away with both barrels. Pull out the Word. Pull out prayer. Pull out faith and use it to tie the devil in knots. Use the uncommon power of God to keep him bound and he won't be able to put anything over on you |
The Apostle wished that everyone spoke in tongues. But he made a clear distinction between praying in tongues and speaking in tongues to the congregation. It does not edify the Church to speak to them in unknown tongues, "except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying." "If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret. ...If there be no interpreter, ...let him keep silence."
1 Corinthians 14:13 - "Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret."
PRINCIPAL - "One Born Out Of Due Time"
You may feel that you do not fit into your present time or place. But you were NOT born out of due time. From this very time and place, no matter how unlikely it seems, you can pursue God's perfect will.
1 Corinthians 15:8-10 - "Last of all [Christ] was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, ...But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain."
PRINCIPLE - "The Greatest Of These Is Love"
Jesus taught, "Love the Lord thy God," "Love thy neighbor," and "Love your enemies." John repeatedly taught, "We should love one another." Paul taught that love (charity) is a perfect (fully mature) virtue. Love excels above faith and hope. How? Faith is a step in God's direction. Hope is confidence in an unseen portion. But love is a choice to do the highest good for someone, including God. If you love God and others, faith, hope, and all other virtues will eventually follow.
1 Corinthians 13:13 - "And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity."
PROPHECY - "The Gift Of Tongues"
Every person who receives the the Holy Ghost (as first occurred in Acts 2) will speak in other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance. It happened in the Upper Room, at Ephesus, to Cornelius' household, and in every other Biblical account. In addition, God gives some saints the unction to prophesy in tongues in the presence of other believers. God then gives the interpretation of that message in tongues to another saint who relates it to the hearers. This is done for the edifying of the Church.
1 Corinthians 12:10 - "To another divers kinds of tongues."

Just as the women of the Old Testament made room for the prophets Elijah and Elisha, we must make room for the gifts of the Spirit in our everyday lives and in church services.

KJV - Matthew 7:7-8
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Daniel was born as a Jew in Jewish CULTURE but lived most of his life in the incredibly powerful CULTURE of Babylon. King Nebuchadnezzar defeated his nation and dragged off the best and brightest into a systematic training program designed to strip them of everything that made them Jewish and turn them into Babylonians. They changed these Hebrew boys’ NAMES from NAMES that honored the true God Yahweh to NAMES that honored pagan gods. They changed their LANGUAGE. They changed their CLOTHES. They changed the food they ate. They taught them THEIR HISTORY, SCIENCE, PHILOSOPHY, etc. The Babylonians had an intentional plan to change the way Daniel THOUGHT, BELIEVED and BEHAVED. But Daniel 1:8 says Daniel resolved himself to live under God.
ReplyDeleteIf we’re going to live faithfully under God in a culture that’s opposed to God, we’re going to have to make some predetermined resolutions too.
I’d rather be remembered for standing out than forgotten by blending in:
The Bible says when we are Born-Again we are no longer of this world and it’s CULTURE but have been born into the Kingdom of God and into HIS IDEOLOGIES. We take on HIS NAME when we are born of the water in baptism. We received a new LANGUAGE when we were Born of the Spirit and received the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. As we continue on this holy journey our CLOTHES and APPEARANCE change as the holiness that began on the inside of our hearts is now demonstrated on the outside. After the Born Again experience our entire WORLDVIEW changes and now becomes a CHRIST-LIKE VIEW in the way we THINK, BELIEVE and BEHAVE!
