The Holy Anointing Oil

God called for a specially concocted holy Anointing Oil to be used in the Tabernacle. The proprietary apothecary formula was forbidden to ANYONE outside the Tabernacle. It had myrrh, cinnamon, calamus, cassia, and olive oil, all in specific measurements. Everything in the Tabernacle had to be anointed (rubbed) with it, including the priests. This oil symbolizes the Holy Spirit which, in the New Testament Church, comes to fill every believer.

Exodus 30:25 - "And thou shalt make it an oil of holy ointment, an ointment compound after the art of the apothecary: it shall be an holy anointing oil."

Anointed Craftsmen

God gave Moses explicit instructions for the construction of all artifacts, vessels and furniture in the Tabernacle. Better yet, He called specific men into service and gave them a powerful anointing to do that work. When God wants a thing done, He will bring it to pass. Jesus' parable of the talents indicates that our abilities multiply as we apply ourselves to fulfill His will. You will do an outstanding job. God will enable you!

Exodus 31:3 - "I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship."

The Law

God instructed Moses to command the people to eat unleavened bread at the first Passover, before escaping Egypt, saying, "that the Lord's law may be in thy mouth." The bread of God represents His awesome Law, which nourishes us all. God's word is our life. Manna from heaven nurtured their bodies, but the Law handed down at Sinai gave life to the nation.

Exodus 31:18 - "And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God."

The Golden Calf

While Moses was in the mount with God, the Israelites persuaded Aaron to make a Golden Calf which they worshipped as god. When Moses returned, he was outraged and smashed the tablets written by the finger of God. Moses ground the gold to powder and made them DRINK it! God's Spirit would have dwelled in those people, but gold was a bitter-tasting god.

Exodus 32:20 - "He took the calf which they had made, and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and strawed it upon the water, and made the Children of Israel drink of it."

ALL STIRRED UP  There are times when you know what God has called you to do, but you just don't feel you have the inner resources you need to do it. Somehow you've simply run dry. You know the Word says that "out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water" (John 7:38). But, during those times, you can't even find the creek bank, much less the river. The Word of God tells us how to handle those situations through a clear command: "Stir up the gift inside you." You stir yourself up! Everything you need is already in you. Jesus put it there. Everything you'll ever need to accomplish what God has called you to do has been placed inside you by God Almighty. Faith is in there. Power is in there. Love is in there. Believe that. Speak it out. Say it to yourself now, right out loud: "In the Name of Jesus, I stir up the gift that's within me by faith. I'm stirring up my faith. I'm not going to wait until I feel stirred up. I'm stepping out by faith and expecting my feelings to follow! "I'm stirring up the love of God that's in me. I'm stirring up the power. I'm stirring up myself and running the devil out of my affairs. I'm stirring myself up in the Spirit of the living God! I am stirred up!" Whatever you want to create in your own life—you will need to begin with the thoughts in your own head, and if you want what God says, then you need to say what God says.  That’s your job.  He does His.  And together, your life grows, heals,  expands, and gets better and better.
