OMBS7 / Sorrow Not!

The people in the Huddle House when this man came and sat down with us.  God healed his shoulders, knees and burning feet. The Holy Ghost truly did a work on him. Thank God for FUPCI Baxley, Georgia.

PRAYER - "Pray Always"

In the same verses where Paul recommended "the whole armour of God," (the Girdle of Truth, the Breastplate of Righteousness, Shoes of the Gospel, the Shield of Faith, the Helmet of Salvation and the Sword of the Spirit), he concluded with a forceful call to prayer. The whole armour of God must be attended by relentless, effectual, intercessory prayers. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation and Spirit are augmented and fortified by earnest prayer. Pray always!

Ephesians 6:18 - "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints."

PRINCIPAL - "The Approved Minister Of God"

Along with the various virtues that pertain to enduring hardness, Paul laid down certain other qualities that should be found in the minister of God: Pureness. Knowledge. Longsuffering. Kindness. The Baptism of the Holy Ghost. Unfeigned Love. The Word of Truth. The Power of God. The Armour of Righteousness. Honor. Dishonour (from detractors). Good Report. Evil Report (from detractors). Accused as a deceiver, yet true. Unknown, yet well known. Dying, yet alive. Chastened, but not killed.

2 Corinthians 6:10 - "As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things."

PRINCIPLE - "Be Ye Not Unequally Yoked Together With Unbelievers"

Jesus was a friend to publicans and sinners. But they were not His brethren. "Whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother," Matthew 12:50. Your spiritual family consists of those who are born again by the water and the Spirit. If you bond with people who are not saints of God, you are in for big trouble. Heed this warning!

2 Corinthians 6:14 - "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?"

PROPHECY - "Come Out, Be Separate, I Will Receive You"

How many ways does God have to tell us to leave the world alone? "What concord hath Christ with Belial?" "What part hath he that believeth with an infidel?" "What agreement hath the temple of God with idols?" God says, "Come out, ...Be separate, ...and I will receive you." What if you do not?

2 Corinthians 6:17-18 - "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty."

Sorrow Not!

The redeemed of the Lord shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and [grief] shall flee away.

- Isaiah 51:11

Did you know that as a believer you’ve been redeemed from the curse of grief and sorrow by the blood of Jesus Christ? You don’t have to put up with them any more than you have to put up with sin or sickness.

What I’m telling you is this: You’re going to have to stand against grief and sorrow. It doesn’t belong to you. It’s not from your heavenly Father. You may have to walk the floor all night long. But instead of worrying and crying, walk the floor and quote the Word until that heavy spirit leaves and the joy of the Lord comes.

Remember who you are. You’re the one who shall obtain gladness and joy. You’re the one sorrow and grief shall flee away from. You are the redeemed!
