OMBS7/ From Messes to Miracles

PRAYER - "Thank God For Your Ministers"

In behalf of the saints at Corinth, Paul thanked God for the coming of Titus and another brother. Thank God for your ministers. You would not be a believer if you had not heard; if the minister had not come to preach.

2 Corinthians 8:16-17 - "Thanks be to God, which put the same earnest care into the heart of Titus for you. For indeed he accepted the exhortation; but being more forward, of his own accord he went unto you. And we have sent with him the brother, whose praise is in the gospel throughout all the churches."

PRINCIPAL - "The Apostle - God's Delegate To All Men"

The word "Apostle" comes from a Greek word meaning "delegate, ambassador, one commissioned." Paul said, "Have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord? ...the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord."

1 Corinthians 9:19 - "I made myself servant unto all, ...unto the Jews I became as a Jew, ...to them that are under the law, as under the law, ...To them that are without law, as without law, ...To the weak became I as weak, ...I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some."

PRINCIPLE - "Keep Yourself From Idols Or Things Pertaining To Idols"

Anyone who believes the Gospel should know that man-made idols are not gods. We ignore idols and their non-existent gods. "Though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father." "Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge."

1 Corinthians 8:10 - "If any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols?"

PROPHECY - "With Temptation, God Will Also Make A Way Of Escape"

The temptations of sin have never changed or diminished. The same sins that destroyed the ancients are destroying multitudes today. "Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall." But there is no reason for any believer to be destroyed by temptation.

1 Corinthians 10:13 - "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

I’m excited because you are BOLD when you approach God in prayer, you are BOLD enough to speak in tongues, and you are BOLD enough to claim the promises of God without doubting, begging or pleading.

From Messes to Miracles

A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.

- Proverbs 18:7

We have what we say. As believers, we know that's a vital biblical truth. We can see it in Mark 11:23, Matthew 21:21, James 3:2 and many other verses. Yet we often let it slip.

We allow ourselves to begin talking like the world instead of talking the Word. And eventually we get what we've been asking for—a big mess.

If that's happened to you, remember, whatever you have in your life is a product of what you've been saying. In order to change what you have, you must change what's coming out of your mouth. To head your life in a different direction—from death to life, sickness to health, failure to success—you must take charge of your words.

That's a lot easier said than done. But that's the key: It must be said in order to be done!

How do you start?

First, realize that it can't be done just in the natural. This is a spiritual law, so it must be handled with spiritual power.

James 3:7-8 says the tongue can't be tamed with the same power with which man tames animals. It takes God's wisdom from above. God's Word is His wisdom (Proverbs 2:6). He also said His words are spirit and life. That means it takes God's words to tame our tongues.

Second, repent before God for ever allowing your tongue to be used by anyone except the Holy Spirit. Then give Jesus your tongue. Be determined to speak His words of love, faith, joy, peace and grace. Words of faith stop the fiery darts of hell.

The third thing to do is what Jesus said in Mark 4:24: Take heed, or listen, to what you hear. Listen to yourself! Think, Do I want what I just said to come to pass? If the answer is no, then stop and correct yourself right then. Replace those negative words with praise (Ephesians 5:4).

If you've gotten sloppy about what you say, change your course today by changing your words. Ask God to help you set a watch over your mouth (Psalms 141:3). Put the power that's in your tongue to work for you instead of against you. Stop using it to make messes, and start using it to make miracles. There is a miracle in your mouth!

I recently spoke with an acquaintance about leaving their church as it had fallen into false doctrine.

The pastor baptized with Yashua as part of a combo formula, while double immersing once backward and once forward.
The pastor wears yalmukes and robes during service at times.
The pastor celebrates the feasts of Israel.
The pastor doesn't believe in the New Birth anymore.
The pastor has cast off the biblical tenets of external Holiness in his church and you wouldn't know them from any old sinner.

If my acquaintance had a grasp of the Word of God, he would know to flee. Thank God for pastors after God's heart and whom believe His Word!
