OMBS7/ Believe the Love

PRAYER - "A Prayer For Those Who Support The Ministry" Paul spoke highly of the Church at Macedonia for their generous liberality to the ministry. He did so partly to urge the Corinthian Church to learn to support the ministry. He taught that God loves a cheerful giver, and prayed that they would see God's blessing on their benevolence. Every Christian should recognize the great need to support the ministry. 2 Corinthians 9:10-11 - "Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness. Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness." PRINCIPAL - "The Man Who Strives For The Mastery" Paul's great goal was for the mastery, both as a Christian and as a minister of the Gospel. "This I do for the gospel's sake... Every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. ...I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air." He admonishes you and me to run the race to obtain the prize.  1 Corinthians 9:27 "I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway." PRINCIPLE - "The Minister Of God Has Divine Privileges" Paul defended not only his role in the ministry, but the divinely-ordained privileges of a minister. "Have we not power to eat and to drink? ...Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, ...have not we power to forbear working?" The ministry is a full-time occupation. God does not require ministers to work gratis or pro bono. 1 Corinthians 9:7 - "Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock?" PROPHECY - "God Created The Woman For The Man" In these days of gender-identity chaos, only the infallible Word of God can take us back to sanity and order. Men were not made for men. Women were not made for women. Men were not made for women. God made man first, then the woman for the man. When women rule men, they are in conflict with God, and the result will be chaos and confusion. 1 Corinthians 11:8-9 - "For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. - 1 John 4:16

One day as I was walking along a highway through a park praying, I asked a simple question, "Lord, what do You want me to tell Your people?" Without a moment's hesitation, these words came ringing through my spirit and my mind: Tell them how much I love them. They were so filled with love and compassion that it defies words to express it. For days afterward all I could think of was 1 John 4:16. "And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us." We've read about God's love. We've heard about it. But I don't think many of us have really believed it. If we did, it would totally change everything about us and everything around us. It's that love that caused Jesus to lay down His life for us and to experience for Himself all the pains and weaknesses we experience. It's that love that says to us, even when we feel so unworthy, Come to Me and get what you need. Don't be shy about it. I've been there. Come boldly to the throne of grace that you may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Think about it. God is in love with you—so in love, He's given you everything He has! He's given you all the healing, all the wisdom, all the wealth, all the strength you could ever need. "But what about my terrible past?" That's what His mercy is for! It's taken care of your past. It's covered every sin and failure you ever had. All you have to do now is believe and receive His love. What a shame it is that people suffer at the hands of sickness and disease and every other cursed thing just because they can't believe the love God has for them. Don't let that happen to you. Learn to believe the love. Believe the love God has for you. It's already been released in the blood of Jesus. Believe the love. It's already been released in Jesus' Name. Believe the love. It's already been released in His Word. Meditate that scripture over and over. Say it to yourself again and again all day, "I believe the love Jesus has for me." Once it gets down into your heart, you'll never be the same again.
