Visited by an Angel

PRAYER - "He Shall Command His Children And His Household"

God knew that when he claimed Abraham, He would get Abraham's children and household too. How did He know? Because Abraham understood and practiced spiritual authority. He taught his family and his household the ways of the Lord and commanded them to live by them. You and I should live like that. Hear what God speaks, then speak and reiterate it.

Genesis 18:19 - "For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, ...that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him."

PRINCIPAL - "The Sayings Of The Prophecy Of This Book"

In the forty-five years since I first started preaching the Gospel, I have found precious few people who have demonstrated a genuine, truly attentive interest in understanding the many prophecies and doctrines found in the Book of Revelation. Multitudes of people have a SUPERFICIAL, shallow fascination with Revelation, but when the discussion gets too in-depth, they drop out of the conversation. I have seen it happen countless times. If you seriously want the blessings of this book, you have to keep its sayings.

Revelation 22:7 - "Blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book."

PRINCIPLE - "These Sayings Are Faithful And True"

In Revelation, John refers to the Lord as true and holy (3:7; 6:10); true and faithful (3:14;19:11; 21:5; 22:6); true and just (15:3); and true and righteous (16:7; 19:2). The world has often been misled by false prophets like the Sibyls of Greece, the Oracle of Delphi, Zoroaster, Nostradamus, Mohammed, and more modern voices like Joseph Smith, Edgar Cayce, Jean Dixon and many others. NOTHING in the entire universe is more true, holy, faithful, just and righteous than JESUS CHRIST and the WORDS of His prophecies.  

Revelation 22:6 - "He said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true."

PROPHECY - "The Lord God Of The Holy Prophets Sent His Angel"

Almost every major character in the entire Bible was visited at some time or another by an angel of God. From the cherub that guarded the gate of Eden, to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Joshua, Gideon, David, Jesus, Peter, John, Paul and many, many more, the whole story of God WOULD NOT EXIST without the witness of angels. Angels STILL encamp about and minister to those who shall be the heirs of salvation. One attends you now.

Revelation 22:6 - "The Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done."

PRAYER - "Shall I Hide From Abraham That Thing Which I Do?"

Abraham had great stature with God. That is a remarkable fact, especially when you consider that virtually no one else on earth had a relationship with God in those days. What does it take to rank so highly with God? Abraham had been responsive, obedient and exemplary in all his ways toward God. If you talk right, walk right, and do right, God is likely to open the lines of communication widely. Try it.

Genesis 18:17-18 - "The LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation?"

PRINCIPAL - "A Future Fellowservant / Fellow Prophet / Fellow Saint"

Keep in mind that John was in a VISION during this revelation. The SIGHTS he was seeing were all FUTURE events. Therefore, it is logical to presume that the messenger who showed him these things was not literally alive at the time of the vision. The messenger at best only prophetically symbolized A FUTURE SAINT who would be in heaven when the revealed events actually take place. 

Revelation 22:9 - "Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book."

PRINCIPLE - "The Time Is At Hand - Behold, I Come Quickly"

The given reason why prophecies of Revelation must not be sealed is because "the time is at hand." John and the other New Testament writers anticipated Jesus' return during their lifetimes. Of course, He has not yet returned, but the time is still at hand. Four prophetic days (4000 years) preceded Christ, and two prophetic days (2000 years) have followed. He will return before the seventh (the Millennium). The prophecies urgently need to be declared.

Revelation 22:10,12,20 - "Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand. ...behold, I come quickly; ...Surely I come quickly."

PROPHECY - "How You Are Is How You Will Be Forever"

Charles Spurgeon said, "You cannot make a sinner into a saint by killing him. He who does not live as a saint here will never live as a saint hereafter." Reject any damnable delusion that sin spontaneously expunges. Grace never absolves willful, unrepented, unforsaken sins. How you die is how you will be FOREVER. You must repent and reform. 

Revelation 22:11 - "He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still."
